Fourth win for Olga Zabelinskaya in less than a month

RusVelo team rider Olga Zabilinskaya tops the podium again, this time in the prologue of La Vuelta a el Salvador. She was clearly the strongest of contenders on the tricky 4.6 km-long course, keeping her main rival Alena Amialusik off at more than ten seconds. Four more RusVelo girls made the top-10: Tatiana Antoshina (5th), Aleksandra Burchenkova (6th), Elena Kuchinskaya (7th) and Inga Cilvinaite (9th).

Olga Zabelinskay, the 2012 Olympic ITT medalst, said: “It was less than 5 km, but these kilometers were enough for me to almost cough my lungs out. Passing motorbikes and cars raised a lot of dust and it stayed in the air, as there was almost no wind. Strictly speaking, I’ve never liked time trials of this type where you have to dance out of the saddle all the time. But when you win, it compensates for little fun riding like that. Talking about the GC prospect, I’ll keep an eye on Mara Abbott, I realize perfectly that climbing the steep mountains is more her of cup of tea than mine – but we as a team will fight till the end”.

Thus Olga Zabelinskaya comes to the start in yellow today, with RusVelo a clear leader in the team general standings.
