Gaviria & SIDI: Poker in the Giro 100

The Colombian rider is making a big splash with 4 stage victories and the cyclamen jersey.
Sidi shoes are on the feet of more than two thirds of the riders who make up the pack in the Giro 100 and Sidi still has a major chance of making it to the final podium in Milan. However, up until now the finest satisfactions have come from the sprints, thanks to Fernando Gaviria and his extraordinary fast skills.

The young Colombian rider was born in 1994 and currently rides for the Quick-Step Floors team. Until now he has turned out to be the number one sprinter vying for victory on the pink roads of the Giro 100. Sidi shoes also for his last man in the sprint, his loyal teammate from Argentina Max Richeze.

So far he has won no less than 4 stage victories to string together a series of pearls that is one more beautiful than the next: Cagliari, Messina, Reggio Emilia and last but not least, Tortona. Gaviria is also wearing the cyclamen jersey that identifies the best sprinter in the group and his goal is to carry this prestigious jersey all the way to Milan. Furthermore, Gaviria also had the honour for one day after Sardinia to don both the pink jersey and the white jersey for best young rider. What more could a rookie ask for in his first Giro d’Italia?
