That’s what Shane said about his debut in the Russian national team: “My first race for the Russian team is a new stage in my professional career. I am glad that my debut turned out successful and I brought the medal for the team. I was set up to take over the victory, however, the silver medal is also a good result and definitely a successful start in a new team. The atmosphere was great and I am thankful for my teammates who supported me and made my debut enjoyable. Also I want to thank Gazprom, the team’s sponsor, with such a support we are able to fight for the victories and will definitely bring more medals in future. For me it’s a new challenge and opportunity to prove that I have strong legs and desire to win.”
