Gearing Up For The Tour of Norway

Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will broaden its reach when it lines up in the Glava Tour of Norway (May 15-19 / UCI 2.1) on Wednesday. The race takes place over five days and will be the first time Africa’s first Professional Continental team takes part. The team will be starting a competitive line up which amongst others includes Kristian Sbaragli who recently finished in the top ten on two of the stages in the Tour de Picardie. Andreas Stauff will also play a key role in the bunch sprints while South African, Jaco Venter, is enjoying the best season of his career.

“As has been the case this whole year, the most important achievement for us is race experience at the top level of this sport,” sports director, Kevin Campbell said. “Norway is a new country for our team to race in with its own conditions and race atmosphere. Many of the top teams in the world of cycling will be here and while we will be learning we will certainly not be spectators. We are here to race and aim for the best result possible. We have a nice mix of youth and experience and I’m confident we have the team to race in any situation.”

Venter replaces Gerald Ciolek who was initially down to compete but unfortunately the Milan Sanremo winner has come down with illness.
