Giro del Trentino booms in media, 6-million audience all over Europe.
In an edition looking destined to be remembered for long, ended on April 19th with an outstanding win by Vincenzo Nibali, the 37th Giro del Trentino enjoyed a huge media success. The race was watched by about 6 million people in Europe alone over 27 hours of TV coverage (live and delayed) provided by Raisport and Eurosport. Other area’s figures will become available soon.
The most followed stage was the final showdown to Sega di Ala uphill finish, where Nibali managed to drop his Giro d’Italia rivals Bradley Wiggins and Cadel Evans to secure the overall win.
The race success continued on the web: official website www.girodeltrentino.com provided a wide range of contents, including live updates and video features, scoring a very strong number of contacts from PC, smarthphone and iPad. Italy, UK, USA, France and Spain were the most involved Countries on the web.
Giro del Trentino’s media success was reaffirmed by the organization’s official accreditation figures: the race was followed by 154 accredited professionals from 12 different countries, representing 63 different medias including 16 TV networks.
