Heritage Division Collaborates With Taurus – Now Available in USA
In addition to the beautiful, timeless aesthetics of the bike, the modern technology makes the Heritage Division experience special. A GPS locator positioned inside the frame will detect the exact location if the bike is stolen and send an immediate message to the owner. Each bike’s provenance is also made traceable with an online narrative following the bicycle’s journey form the factory to the first ride with the Heritage custom built app. A perfect combination of innovation and tradition connected by technology and design.

Established in 1908, Taurus has maintained a family-owned factory and together with Heritage Division, Taurus will make its debut in the US. Taurus will continue to focus on refining their traditional bicycle designs with modern accents provided by Heritage Division. For over a hundred years, Taurus has accumulated a reputation for creating original, stylish utility bikes.
Setting itself apart in the market, the brand’s mission is to preserve the traditions and techniques used in the craftsmanship of a classic bicycle. Taurus is one of the few bike companies in the world manufacturing all parts in the same production plant. From frame building to coloring and assembling, they keep their traditional methods in-house, only outsourcing locally for few components. Influenced by the surrounding city of Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, bicycles have always been seen as an intersection of transportation and style. Taurus embodies the real spirit of living and loving the urban landscape while riding.
Heritage Division is comprised of a group of dreamers and hand-crafters from the design and technology cultures, and prides itself on maintaining the legacy of Taurus’ authentic, handmade bikes. “The uniqueness of the process is based on 95% human-powered manufacturing, combined with the ability to manufacture bikes in small batches. We like to think of ourselves as a sustainable micro-factory, which isn’t common these days,” says Roberto Scaccia, founder and CEO of Heritage Division. “For example, we choose to not use machinery to install spokes for each of the bike wheels because there isn’t a machine in the world that can match the hand process.”Modern technology makes the Heritage Division experience special.
Each bike’s provenance is made traceable with an online narrative following the bicycle’s journey from the factory to the first ride with the Heritage custom built app (available on the app store starting May 1st, 2016). Additionally, a GPS locater positioned inside the frame will detect exact location if the bike is stolen and will send an immediate message to the owner. Managed by a bot – a bicycle assistant built using Artificial Intelligence – the sensor will notify you via app real time information such as the safety of the neighborhood you are entering or schedule information, including how long it would take via bike to your next meeting. By connecting the customer with the product they’ve purchased, the entire experience is unique and a new interactive concept for bike owners.
