What's Cool In Road Cycling

Iconic Moment For Women’s Cycling In Strade Bianche

The Bigla Pro Cycling Team is pleased to start the inaugural Strade Bianche on Saturday. Race organiser RCS Sport announced a women’s edition for the first time this season to the delight of the women’s peloton. The race takes place on iconic white roads through Tuscan hills and is sure to be a great advert for women’s cycling.

With the overhaul of the management team and influx of new riders, BPCT always knew it would take time for the team to earn success racing together as a new unit. Last weekend the team competed in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and yesterday in Le Samyn des Dames. Sports Director, Manel Lacambra says he loves the growth he is seeing every race.

Sports Director, Manel Lacambra

We are basically a new team and it always takes time to get to know your teammates and to trust each other on the road. Yesterday there was no team classification in Le Samyn but we were the best team as we had three riders in the top 13. The girls are enjoying themselves and they are excited about the team and the atmosphere is great. We are getting close to that spark we are looking for and I am confident we will have success soon. We have a team of capable riders for this weekend and the important thing is to show how exciting women’s racing is and I am sure the peloton will put on a good show.
