Katusha announces partnership with Sencillo Bikes

Team Katusha is happy to announce a partnership with “Sencillo Bikes Internacional”, a Spanish company specializing in bicycle accessories. Since the pre-season, the team riders have been using the “Sencillo” mudguards in their training sessions. When placed on the saddle, it prevents the rider’s rear and back from getting wet from the water that spits out the rear wheel in wet conditions.

It was in the spring races, in the many days with rain and wet roads that Team Katusha premiered a special edition mudguard made just for them, most notably in Omloop Het Nieuwsbland and Tour des Flanders.

The mudguard “Sencillo” is easily installed on the saddle without tools. It is very light and strong, and when not in use, it folds up and can be stored in the jersey pocket.

“We were cyclists when we were young, and we all know it’s not nice to have a wet back,” explains Oscar Colás, manager of “Sencillo Bikes Internacional”. “We are pleased to contribute to more comfort for cyclists and help a bit on long training sessions and the hard races in bad weather conditions.”

Hours spent by riders on the bike with extra protection against the wetness – is a bonus situation. It also helps keep dry everything carried in the jersey pocket – food, energy gels or a radio.

In the early stages of the Giro d’Italia, on the wet Irish roads, the cyclists installed mudguards with the Team Katusha special edition achieving a bit more comfort in wet weather.
