What's Cool In Road Cycling

Katusha: Arctic Race of Norway 2013

Alexander Kristoff is out from the race because of pneumonia.

Sad diagnosis came today for Norwegian sprinter of Katusha Team Alexander Kristoff. The X-ray from today, done in Stavanger, home city of the rider, confirmed that he suffers from a bacterial pneumonia in the right lung.

More testing is to be done to identify the bacteria exactly. Right know, Alex suffers from 39 degrees of fever and is treated with antibiotics.

“It is such a pity for Alexander and our team, because after Tour de France he was in a great shape and could get some nice results in next races, including Arctic Race of Norway, where he was very motivated. Anyway, we all wish Alex a quick recovery and are waiting him back in the racing very soon,” said sports director of Katusha Team Valerio PIVA.
