Kenda Athletes Score Big at UCI Track Worlds

Athletes from Kenda sponsored cycling teams racked up an impressive tally of World Championships, medals and even a world record at the UCI Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands this past weekend.

Leading the medal count was US national team rider Chloé Dygert-Owen, scoring world titles in both the women’s team pursuit and the women’s individual pursuit, in which Dygert-Owen twice set a new world record. The first coming in the qualifying rounds which she then proceeded to break in the gold medal round. “I was highly motivated to break a world record coming in to these World Championships and also to come away with two rainbow jerseys,” said Dygert-Owen. “It feels good to accomplish a team and an individual title. I will take a short break and re-focus on my next road goals with TWENTY20.”

Joining Dygert-Owen on the US women’s team pursuit squad in the gold medal round were TWENTY/20 teammate Jennifer Valente and Kelly Caitlin from Rally Pro Cycling, both Kenda sponsored athletes, and Kimberly Geist.

Rounding out the medal winning performances were the bronze medal ride from Kelly Caitlin in the women’s individual pursuit and in the women’s points race, Jennifer Valente from the United States rode to a silver medal, while Canadian Jasmin Duehring turn in a bronze medal performance.
