KOO Announce Sponsorship of Continental Team Polartec-Kometa
The Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso backed team will race in KOO eyewear for the next three seasons.
KOO, the outdoor and sport brand who create high performance sporting eyewear, are proud to announce an exciting three-year partnership with Polartec-Kometa Cycling Team. This new team sits within the Alberto Contador Foundation now supporting the new Trek-Segafredo development team, with Polartec and Kometa as the main sponsors.

The Polartec-Kometa team includes 11 young and aspiring riders from eight different nationalities, who will ride in both KOO Open and KOO Open Cube.
Following on from the team presentation held earlier this month led by multiple grand tour winner Alberto Contador and double Giro d’Italia winner Ivan Basso, the team look forward to their busy race schedule with races including Tour du Haut-Var 17th to 18th February.

About Alberto Contador Foundation
Alberto Contador is joined by his former teammate and friend Ivan Basso, who will be the sport manager while Fran Contador will take over the administrative management. The new team aims to offer an opportunity for professional training for young people from both the Contador Foundation and other European world schools, continuing the work already initiated by Trek-Segafredo. The main sponsors – US firm Polartec and the Italian company Kometa, are also part of the Alberto Contador Foundation, have signed a three-year commitment, which guarantees the project’s stability.
The team will have bikes and technical support from Trek Factory Racing, they will have an operational base in Pinto (Madrid), sharing the headquarters with other teams in the Alberto Contador Foundation.
