Lotto Belisol: Lotto Belisol engages Vegard Breen

Next year Lotto Belisol will welcome Vegard Breen. The 23-year-old Norwegian rider is cycling for Joker – Merida now. In 2008 he became national champion time trial of Norway with the juniors and he had silver at the European championship time trial. In 2012 he won the U23 race La Côte Picarde, this year he was the overall winner in the Ronde de l’Oise. With this latest asset Lotto Belisol proves again it invests a lot in youngsters, after earlier the coming of Sean De Bie was announced. Vegard Breen signed for two seasons as well, the contract starts on the 1st of January 2014.

Vegard Breen: “It means very much to me that Lotto Belisol gives me the chance to ride in a strong pro team. I’m very happy and am looking forward to be part of such a good team and to learn a lot the next two years so that in the future I can set strong performances myself and be able to have nice wins at the pros. Lotto Belisol is an ideal team for the further development of a young rider like me. They have experienced riders and have a long history at the highest cycling level. I do not yet know what to expect next year. I want to contribute to the team’s success and work for the leaders. I’m suited for the classical races; I love cobbles and crosswinds. I’m not a real time trial specialist, but if I aim for a GC, I can definitely maintain a good position.”
