What's Cool In Road Cycling

Lotto Belisol: Medical bulletin of Kris Boeckmans and Greg Henderson

Kris Boeckmans won’t start in the third stage of Paris-Nice today. In a crash in the first stage on Sunday he was hit from behind by another rider and incurred a small concussion.

Last Sunday Greg Henderson didn’t start in the Three Days of West-Flanders anymore. The New-Zealander, who underwent surgery of his knee in the winter, suffered from an infection of that same knee and by way of precaution he left the race. Sunday evening the infected wound and bursa were drained in the hospital of Herentals by doctor Toon Claes. There isn’t any new damage to the joint for which he had surgery. Henderson, who showed his growing form in the previous races, has to leave the bike aside for a few days.
