NACS Launches Membership Sales With Special Offer
The first sale of memberships for North American Cycle Sport is now underway with a special introductory offer.
Individual memberships purchased before March 31, 2016 will cost $35 and are good for every discipline (road, mountain bike, cyclocross and track) in competitive and non-competitive cycling events. Memberships can be purchased directly through NACS’s technology provider, BikeReg: bit.ly/nacsbike
NACS Chief Executive Officer Tod Manning said the special pricing is part of the group’s mission to make the sport more affordable to cyclists of all ages and abilities. After March 31, individual memberships for unlimited racing will cost $79.35.
“Our mission is to serve the grassroots cycling community, so it makes sense to offer significant savings to the people we want to get involved in the sport,” Manning said. “Our fee structure from top to bottom is very competitive and in line with our objective to operate cycling events in a cost-effective and transparent manner.”
One-day memberships will cost $9.35 and can be purchased at NACS events. Payments will be logged and applied against other NACS membership levels. Family memberships will also be available after the new year, also at a special introductory rate.
For 2016, memberships will run through Jan. 31, 2017. In the future, all memberships will be for 13 months and run from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31 of the following year.
Manning said he has heard the concerns some prospective NACS members have about purchasing multiple licenses.
“By investing in a NACS membership, you are investing in your local cycling community,” he said. “We will recognize a rider’s current category and for purposes of category upgrades, we will be recognizing both NACS and USA Cycling races.”
