What's Cool In Road Cycling

Northwave Back to the Etape du Tour in a Main Role

Northwave is back this year to the Etape du Tour, cycling amateur race managed by Tour de France’s organizer ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation), in South-West France, on Sunday July 20th, as the event’s official technical shoes supplier.

After 2013 edition’s great success, with 13.667 registered riders, the event gives the opportunity for cycling lovers to try to emulate the performance of Tour de France superstars again. The race route will be the same as the Grande Boucle’s queen-stage, the 18th of 2014 edition from Pau to Lourdes-Hautacam, 148 Km characterized by the Col du Tourmalet ascent (2115 mt).

On Friday and Saturday, July 18th-19th, at the Stade Philippe Tissié in Pau, the EXPO Area will be open with the booths of all the official partners. Northwave will display the Etape du Tour’s official shoes, Extreme Tech Plus, beside many other novelties from its wide product range.

In addition, cycling fans will get the chance to fit Northwave’s top road race shoes to participate to an exclusive competition on trainers, with a 3D simulation of the Col du Tourmalet, and the challenge winner will be awarded with a Northwave Speedster Black helmet and a pair of Northwave Razer glasses, while the winner of every manche will be rewarded with a pair of Northwave socks. On the occasion, the riders will also get the chance to test the performance of the Speedplay adaptor, providing maximum power transmission on pedals thanks to a just 0,5mm thickness (rather than 3mm of traditional adaptors).
