What's Cool In Road Cycling

OPQS Riders to Escort 8th Innergetic Pijl Participants

Sunday 8th of September Latexco is organising for the 8th time the Innergetic Pijl. A cycling tour for young and old.

Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team riders will serve as professional escorts for a 100km event that can’t be missed: The Innergetic Pijl!

Dries Devenyns, Iljo Keisse, Nikolas Maes, Alessandro Petacchi, Frantisek Rabon, Matteo Trentin, and Stijn Vandenbergh will be present at the ride that starts at 9 o’clock. Tom Boonen, a Belgian cycling legend of the Classics, will also be present though he will not ride.

“This race is already in its 8th edition and it becomes a bit of a classic for the participants,” Boonen said. “It will be good for the team to be there. The team is happy to support and ride with the public at Innergetic Pijl. Unfortunately I cannot ride, but I will be there to encourage my teammates and those in attendance. I’m excited for this event!”

Innergetic Pijl is a cycling tour for recreational cyclists. There is a tour of 100 kilometers for cycle tourists, a recreational tour of 50 kilometers and a family tour of 25 kilometers. The tour brings the cyclists along a sophisticated circuit, along the quiet Flemish ways of Tielt, the home base of Latexco, the company behind the quality label Innergetic. All these tours start from Latexco Handling (Ten Hovestraat 32 – 8700 Tielt).

The cycling village brings you pleasure the entire day. Drinks, food, a signing session with some players of football Club Bruges (Wang, Vlachos, Boli) several attractions among, jumping castle and a splattering performance of Geena Lisa Trio at 15h. You can participate to the tombola and win several beautiful prices.

The Innergetic Pijl is dedicated to Lode Bekaert, former financial director at Latexco and co-founder of the Innergetic Pijl. Lode passed away on June 8th during the climb of the Col de Richemont in the French Jura.
