What's Cool In Road Cycling

Quest for glory in the Critérium du Dauphiné

The Blanco Pro Cycling Team will start Sunday’s Critérium du Dauphiné with ambitions of scoring. Sports Directors Merijn Zeeman and Nico Verhoeven hope for success with the likes of Laurens ten Dam, Tom-Jelte Slagter and Stef Clement.

“First of all, we want to ride a good classification with Laurens ten Dam.”, according to Zeeman. “During the winter, we made a plan with him wherein the Dauphiné formed a primarily goal. Laurens will enjoy a protected status and have a free hand. As a team, we’ll support him in the best possible way.”

Regarding Stef Clement, who booked two top ten time trials in the Giro d’Italia, Zeeman said, “We’re looking for Stef to ride a good time trial on the fourth day. As for Tom-Jelte Slagter, we’re aiming for a few of the trickier arrivals and by that I mean the arrivals falling just within the category of high mountain.”
“Finally, we want the entire team to ride aggressively”, added Zeeman. “Additionally, it is going to be a chance for some of our riders to improve their form ahead of the Tour.”

Team line-up:
Laurens ten Dam, Tom-Jelte Slagter, Juanma Garate, Robert Wagner, David Tanner, Bram Tankink, Marc Goos and Stef Clement – Sports Directors: Merijn Zeeman and Nico Verhoeven
