What's Cool In Road Cycling

Ride25 partners the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust for the #DoubleGoldTour

Ride25, the pioneering cycling travel company that takes riders around the world in 25 stages, has announced a partnership with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust that will see it organise the charity’s first overseas event, the #DoubleGoldTour from London to Paris.

The partnership was officially launched at The Gridiron Building in London, which saw prospective #DoubleGoldTour participants mingling with riders that had taken part in previous Ride25 tours and sharing their experiences.

The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust is working to help over one million disadvantaged 16-25 years olds who aren’t in education to find new routes into training and employment, with the mentoring support of world class athletes. Trust representative Jocelyn Yeboah Newton was on hand to present to the riders on the projects that funds raised on the #DoubleGoldTour will go towards.

Ride25 Founder John Readman commented: “We’re very proud to be partnering with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. Ride25 is all about giving people new opportunities and experiences, all the while raising money for good causes, so it’s fitting that we’re partnering with this charity for the #DoubleGoldTour.”

He continued: “This will be the trust’s first overseas event, and we’ll be using our expertise to help make the event an enjoyable experience for the riders, raising lots of money for a great cause tin the process.”

Using its expertise in cycling tours, Ride25 will ensure that riders are fully supported on the three-day ride from London to Paris, complete with support cars, accommodation, and food. The event will take place between 4th-6th June 2015, featuring approximately 25 riders who will cover an average of 77 miles a day.

Ride25 makes the dream of riding around the world more manageable with a novel, flexible approach which allows riders to complete a round the world trip in 25 tours, completed months apart, one tour at a time. Individuals, groups, charities and companies are all invited to take part in however many stages they like, starting wherever they please, whether that be one stage through continental Europe or all 25 from the UK to Australia.

The next rides are scheduled for May 2015, including routes from Leeds, Manchester and London to Paris, Paris to Geneva and Geneva to Milan.
