RusVelo team fine-tunes for the season in Tuscany
Fifteen RusVelo riders came together on the Tyrrhenian seaside for the penultimate pre-season training camp. The packed schedule is shared between long training rides on the road with various intensity, stretching and core sessions, various tests. Much time is given to theory and communication – the fact, which sets this camp apart from the one held at the same time and in the same place last year. Last but not least, the weather conditions are still more comfortable with the forecast expecting the temperatures between +12 and +15 Celsius.
Sergey Honchar, RusVelo DS said:
“We believe this camp is even more important than usual. The team has undergone a serious transformation; new riders make up a half of its roster. The guys built up a good physical base, now it’s time to see what they are capable of. After a long period of strength-oriented workouts, we’ll re-focus on special characteristics such as endurance. We need to build strong links between the riders, but also rider’s feedback is at the top of our priorities list. A modern rider can’t be effective if he does his job automatically, he is expected to clearly see the point of what his does in training and racing. We’ll sum up and discuss the work done every day. They will also attend the theoretical lectures by Fabrizio Tacchino, similar to those read at the special UCI courses”.
The training camp will go on until January 20.
