What's Cool In Road Cycling

Sprinters of Gazprom – RusVelo are Ready for the German Race

On Tuesday third of October Gazprom – RusVelo is to compete in Sparkassen Münsterland Giro.

Since the inception in 2006 the race in western Germany has been traditionally organized on the German Unity Day – third of October. Sparkassen Münsterland Giro has been steadily catching on and in 2015 got the highest UCI category. As of today, it is one of the prestigious cycling contests held in the end of racing season.

The only mountainous challenges will be four short hill climbs on the first part of 198,7 distance. Apart from these hill climbs, the route is entirely flat and is for pure sprinters. The winner will be defined on the final three laps in the center of Münster.

Team roster of Gazprom – RusVelo for the German race includes the strongest specialists of flat terrain and experienced riders, who are to assist sprinters on the decisive moments. Nikolay Trusov shared his expectations about the upcoming race: “From our line-up for Sparkassen Münsterland Giro I am the only one who had already competed in this race, that was five years ago, but apparently the route didn’t see significant changes. This year the list of contenders is really impressive and for many riders the upcoming start will be the last in the season. So, we expect a fierce competition in Münster, but my teammates and I also strive to show a result and are ready to confront the strongest contenders.”

Gazprom – RusVelo line-up:
Igor Boev, Andrey Solomennikov, Sergey Nikolaev, Artur Ershov, Alexander Porsev, Nikolay Trusov, Anton Vorobyev, Stepan Kurianov.
