What's Cool In Road Cycling

Suisse Belongs to SIDI Sport

With their champions Sidi Sport captures 7 stages and the final classification in the Tour de Suisse.

The 2014 Tour de Suisse carries the signature of Sidi Sport. In the important Helvetian stage race, which served as a luxury starter to the upcoming Tour de France, the champions from the Sidi stables shone brightly, capturing no less than 7 out of the 9 stages on the schedule, plus the final classification.

The King of the Tour de Suisse is current road World Champion Alberto Rui Costa. The Portuguese rider from Lampre-Merida battled it out to the last metre to win Sunday’s final stage in Saas-Fee and snatch the leader’s jersey from Tony Martin (Omega Pharma), who had been leading the race since the very first day.

Tony Martin proved to be in top form, blowing away all the competition on his favourite type of terrain, the time trial, winning both the inaugural prologue and the time trial in the seventh stage… when the stopwatch is ticking, he is always the man to beat.

Rounding out Sidi’s success in Switzerland, first there was Slovak Peter Sagan (Cannondale Pro Cycling) who won the 3rd stage, from Italy Sacha Modolo (Lampre Merida) won the 5th stage and Matteo Trentin (Omega Pharma) won the 6th, while finally Colombian Johan Esteban Chaves (Orica GreenEdge) was the winner of the 8th stage.

All of them were battling it out on the road and shining on the podium with their ever present Sidi Wire shoes, light and performing, that are the top of the line models in Sidi’s on road collection.

Good job! Congratulations from Sidi Sport.
