Lee Valley VeloPark – home to the iconic London 2012 Velodrome, which will open to the public in Spring 2014 will be collaborating with the biggest cycling festival Prudential RideLondon, this weekend.

Lee Valley VeloPark will have a presence throughout the weekend of Saturday 3 August and Sunday 4 August 2013 within the Cycling Village located in Green Park.

Visitors to the Lee Valley VeloPark stand can get advice about cycling, and take part in a fantastic watt bike challenge – where participants will be able to race against a competitor by cycling one whole simulation lap around the London 2012 Velodrome, 250 metres in length.

Shaun Dawson, Chief Executive of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority said:

“Lee Valley VeloPark will be the best cycling venue in the world – bringing together four disciplines in one place: track cycling, mountain biking, BMX and road cycling.

It will open up cycling for hundreds of thousands of people across the UK.

“There will be a vibrant mix of programmes for clubs, schools, community groups and disabled people. Races and major events will also be held here. London has entered the bidding process for the velodrome to host 2016 Track Cycling World Championships.”

Fans will get the opportunity to witness elite cycling from London 2012 medallists once again.
