Team Giant-Alpecin’s First Visit to Taiwan

Team Giant-Alpecin this week had its first visit to Taipei, Taiwan, home of joint title sponsor Giant Bicycles, where the team was introduced to both the media and fans.

Three-hundred invitees were brought together from across Taiwan, comprising of members of the press as well as fans of the team, to be introduced to the team and the Keep Challenging philosophy as well as the team’s two title sponsors, Giant and Alpecin.

Also present were members of the Team Giant-Alpecin management, Iwan Spekenbrink (NED), Ellen Geerdink (NED), and Yvonne Baltus (NED), together with recent winner of the People’s Choice Classic in Australia, Marcel Kittel (GER). They were joined by Vicky Yang, CEO of Cycling Life Style Foundation and daughter of Giant Founder King Liu, James Hu, Vice President of Global Marketing at Giant, and Eduard Dörrenberg, Managing Director of Alpecin.

General Manager Iwan Spekenbrink said of the day: “The team’s first visit to Taiwan was driven by our desire to inspire people to ride their bikes, and to become fans of our team and follow professional cycling.

“It was a superb turn out on the day and great to see such support from both the fans and the media here in Taiwan and in Asia where cycling continues to go from strength to strength.”

The team also had the chance to visit Giant’s HQ, as well as the factory and the Liv store in Taipei. Further images can be found on our media centre.
