Team NetApp – Endura starts Vuelta a España with high ambitions

The highest-ranked German cycling team is setting off on its first Vuelta a España with a strong selection of riders.

The nine members of the squad are:
Jan Barta (28, CZE), Iker Camano (34, ESP), David de la Cruz (24, ESP), Zakkari Dempster (25, AUS), Bartosz Huzarski (32, POL), Leopold Koenig (25, CZE), Jose Mendes (28, POR), Daniel Schorn (24, AUT) and Paul Voss (27, GER).

“The Vuelta is the clear highlight of our season. In line with this, our team comprises a selection of strong and experienced riders. It will only be our second Grand Tour and we are absolute outsiders – but for this very reason the boys are going into it highly motivated. After having made it to the podium at the Giro twice, our aim now is to win a stage. I think we are well suited for the mountainous parts of the race and people ought to be watching out for us making a break on the hillier stages. We will keep a visible presence and participate actively,” Ralph Denk, Team Manager at Team NetApp – Endura, commented on the team selection.

Sport Directors Enrico Poitschke and Alex Sans Vega will be accompanying the team on the three-week tour.

The 68th Vuelta a España event is starting this coming Saturday (August 24) with a Team Time Trial over 27 kilometers in Vilanova de Arousa.
