Team Sky Partners with Douchebags To Design Innovative Bike Travel/Storage Bag. A Fully Protective Hybrid Construction, Lightweight, and Compressible when Not in Use.

Douchebags – (DB Equipment) leaders of hybrid construction adventure travel gear partners with world-class athletes and British cycling’s Team Sky to design a one of a kind road bike bag called The Tour; fully protective, lightweight, compressible and functional road bike bag designed to take the stress off your hands so you can embrace the freedom and just enjoy the ride.

Team Sky, the world’s most professional RR team had already tried for years to work with several big players in the travel bag industry, but none of their bike bags had managed to meet the team’s high demands. This was when Team Sky’s head mechanic, Allan Williams, noticed Db’s innovative approach to gear bags, and he thought that perhaps this Norwegian company could rise to the challenge.

Following more than two years of non-stop hard work together with Team Sky as well as mountain bike athletes like The Atherton’s and many more, a hybrid and patent pending solution called The Tour was created, with benefits of both hard case and soft case solution that ultimately redefines the bike bag.

The Tour is made with the protection of a hard case but lighter, practical handles for carrying, lifting and pulling. Constructed to keep your bike in the optimal position with the option to keep your seat and handlebars attached making it easier and faster to pack and unpack. The Tour is quick, durable and light and offers the advantage of a collapsible design for easy storage when not in use.

Db Equipment is thrilled to announce the expansion of their game-changing travel bags into the bike category. A mountain bike bag, The Trail, and a road bike bag, The Tour, will redefine the experience of traveling with a bike. The seamless Db experience will be available to bikers 20th of March 2017

“Ever since we created the Douchebag and really pushed the ski bag market, we have been approached by athletes from so many different sports asking us to improve their travel equipment as well. So we decided to take on the bike travel bag category, as it was one of the segments that really needed better product solutions,” said Jon Olsson, professional skier and co-founder of Db Equipment.

As with the original ski bag, the Db team went back to the very fundamentals of traveling with a bike to create the same level of thoroughly re-engineered design. This singular focus has led to a unique, technical, patent-pending product solution. “We did not set out to make a bike bag; we set out to make the best bike bag. We poured resources and time into this project, and when the final result rolled into the office, we all felt that it was 100% worth it. We have a truly great product” said Olsson.

Over the last two years, Db partnered up with many ambassadors to make sure they addressed every angle of travel with a bike. This included consulting with the mountain bike team Athertons, as well as Team Sky, a prestigious British road cycling team. The time and input from bike world professionals who live and breathe their sport was a crucial ingredient in designing these bike bags. “To work with Team Sky has been an amazing experience. Their mentality of never settling for anything but the best is in perfect alignment with our design philosophy, so the cooperation worked out great,” said Truls Brataas, CEO of Db Equipment.

Db has seen 98% average annual growth each year with its current, highly coveted travel bags. The company continues to expand internationally, working with premium retailers around the world. Since its inception just over four years ago, Db Equipment has expanded from the award-winning Douchebag ski and snowboard bag to include a line of sleek, well designed, integrated gear-hauling systems, making traveling easier and more efficient.

About Db Equipment:
The award-winning Db Equipment concept was born from a conversation in the Norwegian surf in 2009 between a professional athlete and a product designer. They followed up with two years of research to create the perfect ski and snowboard bag. The first run of 500 has expanded to over 50,000 bags with global distribution. This success has come from a place of passion and experience leveraged to bring creative, outside-the-box solutions to traveling with heavy, bulky sports gear. From the light, game-changing compressible ski bag, the hook-up system, to building tough bags that haul efficiently, the company maintains its trademark sleek, minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic. Db is constantly pursuing better journeys through smarter travel gear.
