The Curtain Rises on the 72nd Edition of the Tour de Pologne
Official presentation in Warsaw on Wednesday, May 6th
It’s time to start the show at the 72nd Tour de Pologne. The official presentation for the 2015 Polish stage race will be held on Wednesday, May 6th at 12:00 p.m. at the Hotel Marriott in Warsaw.
The presentation will feature an unveiling of all the details for the 7 stages in the Tour de Pologne scheduled from August 2nd to the 8th, 2015. This is a race which has become a regular event on the UCI World Tour calendar during cycling’s great summer season.
As always, General Manager for the Tour de Pologne Czeslaw Lang will be doing the honours as host and MC. World Champion Michal Kwiatkowski, fresh off his win at the Amstel Gold Race, and King of the last edition of the Tour de Pologne Rafal Majka will be among the many guests attending and participating in the baptism for the 2015 edition of the Tour de Pologne.
“The last editions of the Tour de Pologne were really extraordinary, and riding this wave of enthusiasm we have been working hard for the 2015 edition to draw up a route which, together with the determination of the riders, will contribute to making the race thrilling and spectacular,” explains Czeslaw Lang. “We are proud of how the entire national cycling movement has been growing in tandem with the Tour de Pologne year after year. Champions like Michal Kwiatkowski and Rafal Majka are the finest examples of this fresh spring in Polish cycling.”
The presentation will serve as the stage of introductions for the teams whose riders will have the task of lighting up the race and stirring up the passion of the fans. The spotlight will also be on the leaders’ jerseys (for the general classification and other rankings) and the official partners for the Tour de Pologne, who sustain the event with passion and commitment.
During the presentation there will be ample time devoted to the various events that traditionally accompany the pro race: the Nutella Mini Tour de Pologne, the event dedicated to the youngest riders that is growing year after year and enjoying ever increasing success, and the Tour de Pologne Amatorów in Bukowina Tatrzanska, which every year brings together cycling fans to pedal on the same roads as the athletes in the pro race. In 2015 the new entry will be the Tour de Pologne Challenge Trentino, a granfondo event scheduled for Saturday, June 6th, in Trentino on the Dolomites. The initiative is organized by the Lang Team, in association with Trentino Marketing, to celebrate the unforgettable stage arrival on the Passo Pordoi in 2013.
