What's Cool In Road Cycling

The Italian classic is next LAMPRE-MERIDA target

At the start of Il Lombardia there will be Scarponi, who demonstrated his very good condition in World Championship. There will be Ulissi too, after the outstanding victory in Milano-Torino. And don’t forget Cunego, three times winner of the race.

Team LAMPRE-MERIDA will rely on this trio to try to be protagonist in the Italian classic that will take place on Sunday 6 October, on a lenght of 242 km with start from Bergamo and arrival in Lecco. Four climbs on the course (Valico di Valcava, Colle Brianza, Colma di Sormano and Madonna del Ghisallo) before the hill of Villa Vergano.

The whole blue-fuchsia-green selection will be competitive, thanks to Anacona, Bono, Durasek. Mori and Pietropolli.
The team will be directed by Piovani, supported by the assistant Marzano, the masseurs Bolzonaro, Del Gallo, Della Torre and Redaelli, by mechanics Bortoluzzo, Romanò and Viganò, by doctor De Grandi and by driver Bozzolo.

“I’m in a good condition, in Florence I had good feelings and these feedbacks give me the morale to approach Il Lombardia – Scarponi explain – In bad weather, as by forecast for Sunday, I obtained the 2nd place in 2010, so why not trying to be protagonist this year too?
I have confidence in my team mates, the quality of the selection is so high that we’ll be able to be competitive in every moment of the race”.
