The Tour de Pologne meets Michal Kwiatkowski

Today in Warsaw Czeslaw Lang and the new World Champion have a meeting

Today was a special day for the Tour de Pologne. The new World Champion Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma – Quick-Step) paid a visit to the Lang Team headquarters in Warsaw to be welcomed and embraced by Czeslaw Lang and the entire staff at the Tour de Pologne. It was an emotional day for the World Champion, who was also received by Poland’s Prime Minister, Ms. Ewa Kopacz.

“It is an honour to have the World Champion here with us,” says general director for the TdP Czeslaw Lang. “I’ve always believed in this guy, and I hold him in the highest esteem. At Ponferrada Kwiatkowski accomplished something extraordinary; his victory is a dream come true but I’m sure that for him it is a new starting point towards other great milestones. This rainbow success is good for us and it gives even more impetus to the entire Polish cycling movement.”

“I have great respect for Czeslaw Lang; he has always been an example and someone to look up to. For me the Tour de Pologne is like one big family,” says Michal Kwiatkowski. “All I can do is thank everyone for the esteem, affection and confidence they have always shown in me. I can say that my career practically started at the Tour de Pologne; this is where I took second place in 2012, the season that launched me to the higher level amongst the pros , and this is where I also won my first race as a kid, at the Mini Tour de Pologne.”

The staff of the Tour de Pologne will also take part in the big party organized in Torun, Michal Kwiatkowski’s birthplace, on Saturday, October 11th, to celebrate the Polish champion’s rainbow triumph.
