The Tour of Bauke airs this Saturday
The NOS camera crew and reporter Kees Jongkind closely followed the Belkin Pro Cycling Team during the Tour de France. From early in the morning until late in the evening, they documented the riders’ and staff’s every move. The Tour of Bauke gives an unique behind the scenes look from the camera crew, embedded with a professional cycling team as never before.
“We wanted to show the fans the ins and outs of a cycling team, without restrictions,” said Richard Plugge, managing director of the Belkin Pro Cycling Team. “This documentary is transparency at its best and very interesting for anyone who likes cycling. With Kees Jongkind and his team, we found a group of professionals who were perfect ‘flies on the wall’ during this exciting year. We are pleased with the cooperation and hope the film gives a good insight in how things work around a pro cycling team.”
In the hotel, on the bus, in the team car and during an early morning unannounced doping control; Jongkind and his crew were always there. The film shows from the inside how the men of the Belkin Pro Cycling Team, headed by “Bau” and “Lau”, gave cycling back to the people after the year’s doping winter.
The Tour of Bauke (85 minutes) will air Saturday, September 7 on Dutch television channel ‘Nederland 1’ around 22:30 local time.
