Top-3 again for Olga Zabelinskaya in Vuelta a El Salvador
RusVelo rider Olga Zabelinskaya and her teammates succeeded in defending the leadership in the third stage of La Vuelta a El Salvador. 90 km-long route between Nuevo Concepcion and Santa Ana included no less than five climbs. Olga Zabelinskaya finished third behind the Brazilian climber Flavia Oliveira and the eternal rival Alena Amialiusik. Two other RusVelo riders were not so far behind – Elena Kuchinskaya (5th) and Aleksandra Burchenkova (7th), an important result for the team standings. The diminutive Brazilian pointed out that her team was highly motivated to do something against the total domination of the European riders. Olga Zabelinskaya said: “The stage put our position in danger, as a whole the race was nervous and not at all easy to control. Tomorrow is the queen stage with 13 km uphill finale topping at 1600 m above the sea level. It will be a real decider”.
