What's Cool In Road Cycling

Tour of California Heats Up

What does it take to withstand 110-degree heat, conquer 8 days and 750 miles of grueling California roadways, and rise above the world’s top professional cycling teams? Resolve in the face of pain. Talent. Guts. And drive. Over the past eight years, the Amgen Tour of California has set the bar as North America’s premier cycling event. In 2013 it forged new history, serving as a launch pad for the Devinci 5-hour ENERGY® pb Kenda Racing Team, which captured two podium finishes during Stage 1 in Escondido. Watch Team Captain Francisco “Paco” Mancebo (ESP) assert his veteran dominance over an all-star field, while teammate Jim Stemper (USA) takes Most Courageous Rider Jersey honors—all en route to a 4th place overall finish for the team. See it. Believe it. And stay tuned.
