Twelve cyclists in Spain, Horner will debut

A large group of blue-fuchsia-green cyclists is going to Mallorca in order to take part in the four races of Challenge Mallorca (9-12 Febraury).

Twelve cyclists were selected by LAMPRE-MERIDA’s technical staff: in turn, they will alternate in taking part in the four races, as by daily decisions by sport directors Pedrazzini and Matxin and by the technical assistant Marzano.

These are the riders that will race in Mallorca: Damiano Cunego, Diego Ulissi, Sacha Modolo, Maximiliano Richeze, Przemyslaw Niemiec, Josè Serpa, Kristijan Durasell, Jan Polanc and Mattia Cattaneo, with the important presence of Chris Horner, who’ll make his official debut in his new team. For the final two races, Rui Costa and Nelson Oliveira too will join the team.

This is the schedule of the races:
– Sunday 9 February, Trofeo Palma, 116 km, flat course
– Monday 10 February, Trofeo Ses Salines-Campos-Santanyì, 183 km, 4 Kom of 4th category
– Tuesday 11 February, Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana, 150 km with the demanding climb of Col de Puig Major at 20 km to go, in addition to 2 Kom of 2nd category and 2 Kom of 3rd category
– Wednesday 12 February, Trofeo Muro-Port d’Alcudia, 160 km with 4 Kom of 2nd category and flat final sector.

After the end of the race, LAMPRE-MERIDA won’t leave Mallorca: in fact, it will be hosted by Merida in an event to which the Taiwanese company has invited its dealers and many reporters from all around the world.
