What's Cool In Road Cycling

Ulissi and Cunego will lead LAMPRE-MERIDA in Italy

Twelve months ago, Filippo Pozzato celebrated the victory in Trofeo Laigueglia, the third one in his palmares.

On Friday 21st February, the Italian rider won’t take part in the 2014 edition (Pozzato is performing altitude trainings), but even so Team LAMPRE-MERIDA’s potential will be remarkable and it will permit to try to continue the exciting period (5 seasonal victories).

The attention of the media and the opponents will be focused on Ulissi and Cunego, who both could be competitive on the course of the race, but it will be also interesting to check the condition of climbers Serpa and Niemiec.
LAMPRE-MERIDA will rely on young guns such Palini, Wackermann, Favilli and Bonifazio.

Riders will cover 181,2 km, covering the climbs of Passo Balestrino, Cima Paravenna (twice) and Testico.
On the team car, Daniele Righi will debut as sport director, after having worn blue-fuchsia jersey from 2003 to 2012.
In the staff there will be masseurs Capelli, Della Torre and Santerini, mechanics Bortoluzzo and Romanò and doctor De Grandi.
