Vera Koedooder and Lotta Lepistö extend contracts
Existing riders relishing being part of reinforced team
Vera Koedooder and Lotta Lepistö have extended their contracts, which will see them continue their careers with the Bigla Cycling team in 2015. Both riders are seen as key members of the current team and were delighted at the sponsorship extension from the Bigla company and the addition of previously announced new signings.
“This year I made another step forward in the time trial but I want to keep improving this and my level in general,” Koedooder said. “Our new team manager Thomas Campana, was impressed with my results and he’s also very enthusiastic about my performances and racing style in the last years. He is convinced that we can improve some things and he wants to help me with the best support and equipment to reach my personal goals.”
Annemiek van Vleuten, Shelley Olds, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio and Iris Slappendel have already been confirmed as new members of the team for next season. “We will have a strong line-up for all type of races and I hope to be one of the big engines for the team time trial,” Koedooder added. “I really think we can win a medal in Richmond, USA next year. Next to that I can be one of the riders to play a role in the finals of the classic races and stage-races.”
25 year old, Lepistö says staying with the team is a good decision for her development.
“I am really happy to continue with Bigla. I am really pleased about the riders who are coming to the team next year and I am looking forward to working with them next season. I think I will learn a lot from the team. It’s going to be, for sure, one step further for me to be a better cyclist in this team. My job is going to do lead-outs but also in a good situation I can also do sprints. I‘m the kind of rider who never gives up, I will destroy my legs and hope it’s going to be a good result for the team so I am excited about our roster for next year.”
