PeloPics: Quick-Step Floor’s Fabio Jakobsen promised to give his team a win as soon as he could in 2018 and it only took him 14 days of racing for his pay-back promise to come true. The 21-year-old Dutchman capitalized on Quick-Step Floors’ perfect work in Nokere Koerse and netted the team’s 14th win of 2018. Wednesday’s Nokere Koerse semi-classic (191.1 kilometers), with a new course of 22 cobbled sectors and eight ascents of the Nokereberg climb, came down to a sprint after many attacks. The finalé was controlled by the Quick-Step ‘Wolf Pack’ for Jakobsen to take the win ahead of Amaury Capiot (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise) and Hugo Hofstetter (Cofidis).
