PeloPic: On Saturday in the Antwerp round of the DVV verzekeringen trofee, the Scheldecross, Mathieu Van Der Poel (Beobank-Corendon) took yet another win ahead of World champion Wout Van Aert (Crelan-Charles). Third place went to Laurens Sweeck (Era-Circus) at just over a minute.

Lars van der Haar (Telenet Fidea Lions) and Kevin Pauwels (Marlux-Napoleon Games) managed a fast start, but in the end it was a battle between the two top men of the 2017/18 cross season. Van der Poel made many attacks, but could not drop the World champion and the two hit the final sand section together. Van der Poel was the stronger through the sand and had enough of a gap to take the win to secure his top spot in the DVV verzekeringen trofee.
