Vuelta Hits Covadonga In 2018!

PeloPic: The rumor is that the 2018 Vuelta a España will again finish on the shores of the Lagos de Covadonga. The Asturian newspaper, La Nueva España, has suggested that a Vuelta stage will finish on the summit on September the 9th, which is a local holiday. The climb to the mythical lakes is 12.6 kilometers long with an averages of 7.3%, with some ramps of 15. In 2014 Przemyslaw Niemiec won the stage as Alberto Contador cemented his overall lead. The last time the Spanish Grand Tour finished in Covadonga, in 2016, Nairo Quintana won and went on to take the final victory.

Sam Larner was there in 2016, you can read all about his day HERE.
