· First edition from Wednesday 24 May to Monday 29 May (Ascension weekend)

· A tour of Corsica in four stages to discover the most beautiful roads on the Mediterranean island

· A unique concept allowing for participating in a sporting event and enjoying a cruise

· Registration begins in mid-March 2016

An exceptional cyclosportive event

Explore Corsica by Le Tour de France is a stage based cycling event allowing participants to relive the adventure of the Grand Départ of the 2013 Tour de France. This timed cyclosportive event will total 420 kilometres with 7,390 metres of altitude change, divided into four exceptional stages, and will offer the riders the opportunity to cross the most beautiful passes on the island.

4 stages for a Tour of Corsica

Stage 1 / Thursday 25 May 2017 / Around Cap Corse / Start and Finish: Bastia / 100 km / 1,650 m of positive altitude change

Stage 2 / Friday 26 May 2017 / Bavella summit / Start and Finish: Porto-Vecchio / 132 km / 2,450 m of positive altitude change

Stage 3 / Saturday 27 May 2017 / From one sea to another / Start: Porto-Vecchio – finish: Propriano / 97 km / 1,850 m of positive altitude change

Stage 4 / Sunday 28 May 2017 / Crossing the Agriates desert/ Start: Île-Rousse – Finish: Bastia / 88 km / 1,526 m of positive altitude change

The event will benefit from services of a professional race

• Official timing of the participants

• Daily classifications by category with the attribution of distinctive Tour de France jerseys

• Fully secured event (marshals on the course, 35 security motorcycles, and safety cars at the front, in the middle and at the back of the pack)

• Repatriation Service

• Medical assistance composed of four doctors

• A kinaesthetic care service

• In race mechanical assistance

• A repair shop and bike tuning on the boat

• 3 refreshment points per stage

• Daily race briefing

• Massage service / recuperation at the arrival of each stage

Registration for this first edition will begin in mid-March 2016 with limited places available (limited number of rooms on the ship). Several options allow individual participants, couples or families and groups to personalize their preparation programme
