Officine Mattio has launched the OM1 S, the new road racing monocoque frame in carbon fibre completely made in Cuneo.
The OM1 S is targeted to a young audience, to riders who love neat, refined products, as well as to purists looking for a reliable bike with a gritty look. The OM1 S is the very first monocoque by Cuneo’s Officine Mattio.
Officine Mattio had always designed models in carbon fibre, made in Italy with the double wrapping technology, or with excellent tailor-made solutions in steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
What separates this new model from the others is its production: the frame is made by Officine Mattio OM and the words “Made in Cuneo” can be found on the bike as a distinctive element of the company’s manufacturing philosophy. It’s the very first of many products to come: not only are they 100% Made in Italy, they are also produced in the Cuneo area, located between the Alps and the sea, where the young brand has its roots.
Power, stability and reliability encapsulate what the new OM1 S is all about. It has an integrated handlebar in carbon fibre, designed and manufactured for Officine Mattio for the bike to be as homogeneous as possible starting from the front end. It has an aerodynamic shape, features a special collar connecting the steering column to the headtube, thus making the handlebar steerer-fork combination streamlined and homogeneous.
The frame’s geometry is gritty, with a back end drawn up. The lack of the brake bridge, which normally connects the seat stays and up to now the signature element of the Officine Mattio frames, is another feature of our new aesthetic.
The lower chain stays are slightly arched at the height of the dropout, the oversize headset rests directly on the fork, the cables are fully integrated, regardless of the groupset chosen. Classic, on the other hand, is the choice of the seat-post clamp, which maintains the allure of timeless elegance typical of all Officine Mattio products.
One of the elements that has made the Piedmont brand famous around the world is certainly the customisable nature of its models. The OM1 S is a monocoque product, and as such comes in sizes XS-S-M-L-XL. However, the company also gives you the unique chance to set the bike’s aesthetics by choosing from countless colour combinations and graphic customisations.
For those wishing to purchase the complete bike, Officine Mattio currently offers eight different set-ups, including the new Shimano Dura Ace Di2 and Ultegra group-sets or the SRAM Force AXS. The handlebar and the fork are manufactured by Officine Mattio. It also includes Pirelli P Zero tyres and Selle Italia saddle.
