The Armed Forces Cycling Classic celebrates its 25th edition with the start of the Crystal City Cup circuit race on Saturday, followed by the Clarendon Cup Race on Sunday, awarding the omnium prize for the combined days. The race is offering equal prize money for both the pro men and women races for another year running.

Mark Cavendish won the final stage of the Giro d'Italia in Rome. The British rider of Astana Qazaqstan was by far the fastest in the bunch sprint. Alex Kirsch was second, Filippo Fiorelli third. Primoz Roglic's overall victory was not in danger on the final day.

Primoz Roglič turned the tables on the penultimate day of the Giro d'Italia. The Slovenian of Jumbo-Visma won the mountain time trial to Monte Lussari, despite having gear problems on the climb, he rode Geraint Thomas out of the pink jersey. The Welshman lost 40 seconds and the overall lead by 14 seconds.
