Munoz and Travieso Win 2021 Bucks County Classic

The Bucks County Classic was a hot day filled with exciting racing on the challenging 1.4-mile course. The attacks never stopped during the women’s race. CWA Racing p/b Trek and Fearless Femme Racing took turns at the front driving the pace. Jessica Bonilla of CWA Racing p/b Trek’s efforts paid off with the lap leader jersey and an impressive early sprint to the finish for teammate Paolo Munoz. Tiffany Thomas of Philly Bike Expo sat on the front group, guessing that CWA wouldn’t let Fearless Femme get away like they did in 2019, and it resulted in a second place finish in the pack sprint, followed by Matilda Raynolds of Fearless Femme Racing in third.

The men’s race started off fast with multiple crashes in turns two and three of the course. The excitement didn’t end there. After several attacks split the peloton into two groups, four riders established a break off the front. Frank Travieso of Excel – City Bikes, Sean Guydish of Kelly Benefit Strategies Elite Cycling, Clayton Travis of UCI CT: Team Skyline, and Clever Martinez of Rockland Cycling Velo had an impressive two minute gap over the peloton. Travieso and Guydish took turns at the front, resulting in a 1-point difference for the lap leader jersey ultimately going to Guydish, while Travieso took the win for the day in a sprint finish. Guydish followed in second and Travis in third.
