He's reported in that all has started well, luggage, bike and PEZ are all in the same place and he even has a driver all lined up. This Giro di PEZ is not going to be like last time......

Fridays at the Ghent Six Day are traditionally the 'big' night on and off the track. On the track anyone with serious aspirations to win the event must be able to still dig deep and avoid losing laps in the Madison. Off the track many locals put on their jacket (coat) and tie, bring their wife or girlfriend and spot the local professional riders of past and present who flock to the VIP restaurant and expensive seats.

You have a choice after the Tour presentation: you can bolt for the door and enjoy a beer in the autumn sunshine, or you can strap-on your body armour - to protect you from swinging laptop cases, thrusting big lenses and sweaty Spaniards elbowing through the scrum - and go in search of interviews. Damiano "Kid" Cunego rode like a manly man to his third win of the year's closing Classic on the shores of Lago di Como. After two previous wins from sprints, Cunego dropped his breakaway companions on the descent of the Civiglio and soloed the final 10km to a stylish victory over Astana's Brajkovic and Uran of Caisse.
