Georgia’08 St.7: Complete High Road Domination
Many times when a rider goes into the final stage of a big race just a few seconds behind on GC, there is talk of somehow getting the seconds back and taking the surprise win. Oh there is always hope…and then there is what High Road did on Sunday in Atlanta: they not only protected the lead they smashed home another win for their back to his old self sprinter, Greg Henderson.
There would be no heroics from any breaks today…the main break fought valiantly, but there was nothing doing against…
…Team High Road.
The racing was anything but easy.
Through it all, it was always High Road,
There’s an Astana attack, but there’s…
An inconvenient flat followed by a generous motorpace from the Astana car.
In the sprint it was all Hendy and Haedo, but it was Hendy on the line, and the jubilation that follows is good to watch…
