Today's reader is Aaron from Australia who has added to his ever growing stable of Specialized bikes a Allez Sprint LTD in bright pink which, certainly doesn't go unnoticed on the roads down under.
Today's rig is a Cervélo S3 that was bought as a frame back in 2011 but has received some classy upgrades to put it on par with more modern machines. Built up with SRAM Red and some sweet carbon rims, the bike weighs in at a very light 6.32 kg to make it a great climbing and flats bike for owner Twain from San Francisco.
As a lover of high end bikes, our reader Andy from Connecticut was always going to get a special bike when he went bike shopping but instead of just another off the shelf option he instead went all out with a sweet custom Favaloro Puma XLIGHT from Italy decked out with full Campag Super Record of course. Bellissimo!
To celebrate his fiftieth birthday, Richard from Sheffield in the U.K treated himself to a beautiful custom bike from the guys at Field Cycles that he tried to build up with as many local components as possible all the while keeping the bike modern, classy and sporty. Objective achieved I'd say.
Today we look at an iconic Readers' Rig. A custom steel bike, based on a Shimano promotional poster from the '80s. With the frame copied perfectly, the owner himself then hit the spraybooth to paint his creation with the result being such a cool bike that Shimano themselves bought it and now have it displayed in their bike museum in Japan!
In today's Readers' Rigs we have two Specialized Allez Sprints for the price of one! Corey and Lucia featured their special steeds in the 'To be Determined Journal' and thought they would be a perfect fit for PEZ Readers' Rigs. Two very special Specialized.
Peter Gowan has what has become quite a collectors item, a Kirk Precision frame made of magnesium. At the end of the 80s magnesium was the future... but then carbon came along. Peter has one of the few Kirk bikes still in existence, a fine example of the art.
