Readers’ Rigs: Matt’s 3Rensho

Classic Japanese Track Iron

Readers’ Rigs: We don’t get many track bikes on ‘Readers’ Rigs’ and we have never had a classic Japanese sprinters bike… Until now. Matt in Seattle has sent us his beautiful 3Rensho, built by Shinichi Konno of Cherubim, to marvel at.

When did you buy it?
Ordered it in 2020, kit arrived on my doorstep in July of 2021! What made you choose this bike? Cherubim posted on Instagram last year that Shinichi would be making a limited run of 3Rensho frames using 3 Rensho lug sets. Shinichi Konno is the nephew of 3Rensho builder Yoshi Konno and runs the Cherubim brand.

Have you done any modifications/additions to it?
No!

3rensho

How many miles/kilometres do you do a year?
10-12000 miles on average.

3rensho

What do you love about this bike?
The fact that it is nearly (saddle and tires are not) a full NJS build on a brand I never thought I’d be able to get new since Yoshi Konno was paralyzed in an accident in 1995. Being a lifelong trackie and all around bike nut, I’ve always wanted a 3Rensho.
