Ed's Rant: 2020 and a new season is about to start, but there are a few unanswered question rattling around we need to address before we go any further. They maybe 'What Ifs' and 'Should Haves' but still important nonetheless. From Lance Armstrong to retro equipment, Ed hood brings the curtain down on those burning puzzles of the past... maybe.
Rotterdam '6 Days': The '6 Days' season seems to be getting shorter every winter, it certainly has been a curtailed activity for Ed Hood. This year he flew into Rotterdam for the final night before moving on to Bremen. Here is Ed's report from the Rotterdam trenches.
Interview: The '6 Days' are not what they used to be. At one time the current road stars, Classic and Grand Tour winners, would pair up with a 6 day specialist and pull in the fans. One of those 'specialists' was Australian fast-man Graeme Gilmore, Ed Hood caught up with him to hear all about those halcyon days.
Ed's End of Year Rant: 2019 was a good year for cycle sport and that man Ed Hood has been deep inside as much action as he could get. As we come to the start of 2020, Ed looks back at his memories of 2019 and sums up the season gone with his top picks of the fun.
Ed's Rant: We are in that limbo between Giro d'Italia and Tour de France and Ed Hood has itchy fingers to get a few things off his chest - Rant Time! There are no boundaries for our resident 'Grumpy Old Man' as he looks at the good and bad of cycling past and future...
Rider Interview: There are a few riders around who have competed for different counties in their time, but what about a dual World champion. Vladimir Putin signed an executive order to grant Shane Perkins Russian citizenship and the man from 'Down Under' became a 'Russian bear'. Ed Hood recently spoke to Shane at the Berlin '6 Days'.
Copenhagen 6 Day: As the curtain came down on the final days of the Copenhagen 6 Days, Ed Hood was working hard bellow the boards to see out the last three days... or nights, and so the '6 Day' gerbils stop racing round in circles until next winter.
Trackside Ed: The '6 Day' circus has moved from Berlin to Copenhagen and the Ed Hood caravan was hitched up for the ride. After the long journey across the frozen wastelands, the track-centre cabin is set up and it's business as usual for the opening days of the '6 Days' of Copenhagen.
Trackside Ed: Ed Hood is on the road again; Bremen is just a memory as he packs up the big top in Berlin and moves with the '6 Day' circus to 'wonderful, wonderful' Copenhagen. There was still the final night of the German capital's race entertainment to put to bed before the long trip north to Denmark.
