EuroTrash Monday!

May 13, 2013 - Italy, the US and France, racing all over the World in today’s EuroTrash Monday. It might be a rest day on the Giro d’Italia, but there has been enough going on to give us a nice long coffee beak. Lots of rider quotes, results and race video from all the races and the usual other bits of news we could tip out of the trash bag. But what a great Giro though, eh?

Ben King out of Amgen Tour of California

2010 USA Pro Champion Ben King will not be able to take the start at the 2013 Amgen Tour of California. King crashed on a training ride on Friday May 10th and injured both hands. Unable to grip his handlebars, he needs to withdraw from the race before Sunday's start.

With the Tour of California starting today we thought it was a good time to catch up with one of the sprinters lining up for the race, Optum's Ken Hanson. The current US National Criterium Champion could be a good bet for a sprint stage and he let us in on his thoughts before the race began.

OPQS to Amgen Tour of California

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the selection that will take part in Amgen Tour of California, from May 12th to 19th. The eight-stage, 1172.7 km race begins in Escondido, and ends in Santa Rosa. The route progression is new, as the path changes in 2013 to a south-to-north direction for the first time in the eight-year history of the race.

Vacansoleil-DCM ready for first ever start at Tour of California

From May 12th until the 19th Vacansoleil-DCM will for its first time take part in the Tour of California. The team of sport director Hilaire Van Der Schueren is happy with the invitation. With a mainly Celeste-outfit the team will honor bike supplier Bianchi at this race over eight days. The team travels to California with a mixed team of gc-riders, sprinters and true attackers.
