Cannondale Pro Cycling Team’s Ruben Zepuntke will make his return to racing this season at the Tour of Belgium. Zepuntke has been sidelined since a crash in the final stage of the Tour of Provence in late February after movement in the peloton forced the German into a tree.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 25 May, the Baloise Belgium Tour begins with a prologue of six kilometres in Beveren. This Europe Tour race ends on Sunday 29 May with a stage to Tongeren.

Wanty-Groupe Gobert will line-up this week in the Baloise Belgium Tour with Frederik Backaert, Tom Devriendt, Kenny Dehaes, Enrico Gasparotto, Björn Thurau, Jérôme Baugnies, Danilo Napolitano and Dimitri Claeys.

A solid and well-rounded 8-man outfit capable of leaving its stamp on the race will line up in Beveren, on Wednesday.

Saturday’s stage will be akin to a mini Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Among the 12 expected difficulties, the Cote de la Redoute will remind the riders of la Doyenne. Considering the challenging profile of the entire stage, it will be important to be resilient.
