For Team Blanco Pro Cycling, the Skoda Tour of Luxembourg is all about seizing opportunities. This battle cry is not just in terms of stage wins but also for a few men who have not yet punched a ticket to the Tour de France.
Erik Dekker is looking for two things in the Ster ZLM Toer. Not only is the Directeur Sportif looking for a top classification for the number two from last year, Lars Boom, but also success for Theo Bos in the sprint stages.
Blanco Pro Cycling Team will enter a mix of riders in the Tour of Switzerland, which will start this Saturday. Several of the men come in with their legs still strong from the Giro d’Italia together with several riders who will be preparing for the Tour de France.
After three second places in a row for the riders of the Blanco Pro Cycling Team, Michael Elijzen thinks it’s time for an outright victory in the Ronde van Zeeland Seaports. Since 2010, Jos van Emden, Theo Bos and Lars Boom have come ever so close. This year, the team has prepared for several scenarios but all aiming for nothing short of first place.
The Blanco Pro Cycling Team will start Sunday’s Critérium du Dauphiné with ambitions of scoring. Sports Directors Merijn Zeeman and Nico Verhoeven hope for success with the likes of Laurens ten Dam, Tom-Jelte Slagter and Stef Clement.
Whilst Mark Cavendish took the stage win in Brescia, the men of the Blanco Pro Cycling team crossed the finish line with mixed feelings. The past three weeks have been incredibly challenging but also brought with them great moments. “We did not achieve our primary goal – a top classification for Robert Gesink – but I’ve seen some very positive things and some elements to build on”, said Sports Director Jan Boven.
Blanco Pro Cycling Team will line up a blended team Wednesday, 22 May, in the Baloise Tour of Belgium. Sports Director Erik Dekker sees a challenge for all his riders. “We don’t have an ordained lead man, but with Lars Boom and Sep Vanmarcke, we certainly have two guys who know their way around the Ardennes.”
Following on his success with a stage win in the Glava Tour of Norway, Theo Bos is looking for more. He is looking to pick up a bouquet or two in the Bayern Rundfahrt with is level stages starting on Wednesday, 22 May.
