The 2023 season opens with the Schwalbe Classic, an evening criterium in down-town Adelaide - The curtain lifter for the Tour Down Under. Ally Wollaston won the women's race from a break and Caleb Ewan won a bunch sprint finish from the men.

At the end of a long and technical sprint it was Caleb Ewan who won stage 7 by a bike length from David Cimolai (Israel Start-up Nation). The sprint had been opened up by UAE Team Emirates' Fernando Gaviria who took an early flyer, but the Australian had speed on his side. Attila Valter (Groupama-FDJ) held the overall lead.

The little Australian, Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal), won a crazy technical finish to stage 5 in Cattolica. He weaved his way through the final traffic jam to shoot his front wheel across the line ahead of the unlucky Giacomo Nizzolo. Ewan was in a class of his own in the last metres. Alessandro De Marchi held the overall lead.

As we embark on the final week of the 2020 Tour de France, Ed Hood looks at the action so far. Sunday's stage 15 ended a few hopes, but the race is not over yet and the battle of the Slovenians is still on, with a couple of Colombians and Adam Yates waiting in the wings.

Another day for the fast-finishers, but with a tricky run-in to the line. A late attack came to nothing and the peloton was launched up the final straight by Wout Van Aert, with Caleb Ewan, Sam Bennett and Peter Sagan on his shoulder. It was the little Australian who came out the winner. Primoz Roglič held yellow.
